I want to thank all of the Year 3/4 parents for their support and help to make our Wai Kru ceremony a success. Ms PJ and I are grateful for all of the beautiful flowers that your children have presented to us at the ceremony.
This week in Year 3 & 4 during UOI class the students learned about the Nervous System. The students learned about which areas of the brain are used in processing the sense of smell and sight. The students also learned about nerves and neurones and how they are used in the Nervous System to send signals throughout the body. The students also worked on a diagram of the Nervous System and continued progressing with their slideshow presentations. This week we had special guest speakers come and present to our students about different parts of the body system. Dr. Chakpan Supadech and his wife Ms. Prodpran have presented our students with a very exciting presentation. Both presenters kept our students very interactive throughout their presentation with activities such as dissecting a frog as well as a pig liver and heart to show their similarities to the human body. Their presentation was directly linked to our Unit of Inquiry and helped the students visualise what they have been learning over the past 6 weeks. In addition, they also provided each students with gifts to thank them for participating in their Biology Presentation. We are grateful for having them present to our Year 3/ 4 class and hope they have enjoyed teaching our very excited students today.

In English Class the students worked on Phonics and words with the "CH" sound. The students used these words in sentences. The students also continued work in building their writing skills. The students worked in their colour groups to take part in different phonemic, writing and reading comprehension activities.
In Maths the students continue to be placed into their different colour groups according to their ability levels. The Green Group worked on multiplication and division using 2 and 3-digit numbers. The Purple Group worked on multiplication of single and 2-digit numbers. The Blue Group is continuing to build their skills in addition and subtraction of multiple digit numbers and reinforcing their Place Value skills. Each group took part in a different activity this week relating to the concept they covered. We will continue this format again next week as Ms. Emmi, Ms. PJ and I believe that the students can use an additional week to build and strengthen their skills in these concepts.
