Year 4 Term 2 Week 3 Blog

This week in English class the students worked on a new style of Poetry called "Imagery Poems" which are used to paint a picture in the readers minds. The students also worked on their writing skills and were to make inferences and write about what they think will happen in the next chapter of the story.

In UOI class the students worked on developing their ideas on how to present and create their commercials as part of their unit on advertisement and media. I also introduced the idea that the students can record a commercial in English as well as in another language that they can speak since commercials and advertisements are used globally.

In Maths class we continued working on addition, multiplication and division of numbers with decimal points. This concept has been particularly challenging for our Year 4 students to grasp hence the fact that we are covering it for an additional week before moving on to the concept of "telling time".

 












For our assembly this week our Year 3 and 4 class both worked together this week to present a school assembly on "curiosity". The students created videos about what they were curious about. They also researched to find out the answers to what they were curious about. During the assembly the house teams worked together to try and identify strange objects that they were curious about.
