If you have an issue regarding the 1:1 device policy, please email me on charlotte.r@udoninternationalschool.com.

Swimming

Our swimming days in Year 4 are Tuesdays and Fridays. Thank you for remembering your swimming kits this week. This means everyone this week has managed to have their swimming lessons. Great job! Let's do the same next week. If your child cannot do swimming for any particular reason, please notify the office.

Maths
This week we have been really trying to practice mental addition and subtraction - trying work sums out in our heads. We have also been focusing on one and two step word problems using addition and subtraction. The Year 4s have worked really hard this week. Well done!
Next week, we will be looking at 2D shapes and their properties including lines of symmetry. This will involve lots of discussion and exploration of shapes, including some drawing.

PSPE

This week in PSPE, we have been looking at how to be 'environmentally caring' and we came up with some great ideas. We also watched the Y6 assembly all about being environmentally caring. There is now a school competition where we need to take photographs at home of the children being environmentally caring like walking to school, watering the plants. Each photograph (one per task) will earn your child one house point and a chance to help their team win the competition. Photographs need to be sent to Mr.Mark. Thank you for your support with this.

Homework

Reading - your child should be reading for at least 10 minutes every evening whether on their own or to a family member. This is a good opportunity for your child to read for pleasure and develop those key readings skills required in day to day life.

Maths - This week we have been looking at one and two step word problems. Please complete the homework sheet using correct calculations to solve problems. Complete it on your laptop and save it in your Maths homework folder in the Y4 shared drive. Remember to use the column method to help you. This is a great maths games website to have a look at: https://www.mathplayground.com/grade_4_games.html
Maths homework is due on Wednesday 4th September.

Spellings - Mr. John.E has given your child a spelling grid. It is up to your child to decide which spelling list they wish to challenge themselves with.

We took part in the Year 7 research about what our favourite fruit was to feedback to the menu committee.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me on charlotte.r@udoninternationalschool.com and thank you for your continued support.

Have a great weekend!

Ms. Charlie and Ms. Ning
