In maths this week the children have been learning how to rationalise place values of five digit numbers. The students have also been working on 1 and 2-step word problems that focus on real world addition and subtraction scenarios. Finally, the students continued to sharpen their multiplication and division skills by working to find fractions of a whole number. It is very important that students take some time at home to practice multiplication and division skills. You are all doing a wonderful job in Math!

In English class students have been learning about the relationship between verbs and adverbs as well as the relationship between nouns and adjectives. Students understand that adverbs are words that describe a verb and adjectives are words that describe nouns in regard to what kind, how much, how many or which one.

It was a lot of fun having the the year 7 students come in and present their research projects highlighting fruit survey data of UDIS students.

Our swimming days in Year 4 are Tuesdays and Fridays. Thank you for remembering your swimming kits this week. Thank you to those parents who notified us when your child was unable to participate in a swimming lesson. If your child cannot do swimming for any particular reason, please notify the office.

Year 1 put on a wonderful school assembly on Thursday. My students and I were very impressed to see how much the little ones have advanced their independence.
