Term 2 Week 4

This week in maths class students learned how to add decimal numbers such as .3 + 24 = 24.3. We also continued our work with division, however, this week students were introduced to dividing three digit numbers by two digit numbers. 

Next week students will start working with measurements as well as continue to learn more about adding and subtracting decimal numbers. 

In English class this week students have been learning all about the writing process and how to map out their thinking in order to produce a written story. Students learned how to begin their writing by mapping out their thoughts regarding characters, setting, opening hook, building up, resolution, and closing. It was pleasing to see so many wonderful and imaginative story ideas coming from the learners! Learners also concentrated on reading aloud and comprehending what they read by discussing characters, setting, and making predictions. 

Next week students will continue down their path of the writing process by completing the first draft of their stories. Students will also learn the process of editing their work and peer reviewing their classmates' work as well.

Please be aware that students have a field trip next week on Friday 07-02-20. We will be heading into town to visit the Udon Thani police station to learn from local law enforcement officials about being a good citizen. This event will go from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Your child will be sent home with a permission slip this week. Please sign and date this slip and have your child turn it in to Ms. Ning or myself.
