Students got to make traditional Chinese dumplings during our special Chinese New Year assembly this week. We learned all about traditional Chinese dumplings and the significance they play during the celebration. It is said that eating dumplings during the holiday brings wealth and good luck. Give me some more dumplings please!
For science class this week students got to use wires and batteries to learn how a complete circuit works in order to light a bulb. Students learned that electrons flow through the conductive wire and travel to the bulb causing it to light up. We also examined the inside of a battery to discover how the chemicals create electricity. What a fun week in science!
In maths this week, students continued to work with division and converting fractions into decimal numbers. Students were able to learn through interactive tools, games, collaborative work, and manipulatives.
Next week students will be introduced to adding, subtracting, and multiplying decimals.
