Welcome back to the 2nd half of term 2! It was a short week but we got a lot of learning in. I hope you are all well. Enjoy the blog!
This week students continued to work with decimal numbers including adding and subtracting, rounding, sequencing, and converting fractions to decimals. Next week students will dive into measurements.
Here students are working on a poster that depicts all of the layers of Earth's atmosphere. Students had to indicate how large each layer is and three facts about each layer as well. Did you know that all life on Earth exists in the first layer called the Troposphere? Also, the Troposphere extends up into the sky for about 13 miles from the surface of Earth!
This week students took their fractions and decimals assessment. These will be graded over the weekend but I suspect they did very well.
Nice atmosphere poster Nino and Prim!
Our assembly this week focused on being kind to others. Here students are writing notes of gratitude to various UDIS staff members.
This is Tashi doing his maths assessment. What are you pointing at Tashi??
Mark is working hard on his maths assessment. Way to go Mark!
Sarah doing great things in maths as usual. Have fun in Japan Sarah! We will miss you.
In English class this week students worked on planning out their ideas for writing by producing story maps. Planning is the first step in the writing process and helps students figure out things like setting, characters, and what will happen. Next week students will continue to focus on the writing process including proofreading and rewriting.
