Vision: Udon Thani International School (UDIS) inspires internationally-minded, balanced learners who thrive and become active, global citizens.

As we approach the end of the academic year, Year 4 are working as hard as ever. They have done incredibly well this week. We also began working on 'Project Rainforest', which we will be working on until the last day of term.

The students individually worked with Ms.Charlie by watching a video they had not seen before and used their reading skills: inference, prediction, sequencing, vocabulary and retrieving. Here is the video below:

Along with their daily tasks, the students enjoyed playing some language games with Mr.John E on Tuesday. Maybe they can show you at home!

In Maths, the students worked on their telling the time skills using an analogue clock and thinking about the vocabulary of o'clock and half past. They tried really hard with this as it can be a tricky concept. Next week, we will focus on past the hour and to the hour.

The students made their flipgrid response videos for Mr.John E, who will be their teacher next year. I know he will be very pleased when he watches them!

We began our special topic 'Project Rainforest'. On this day, we looked at the different layers of the rainforest. I hope that the students can tell you all about the four layers of the rainforest and the animals that live there. The students were asked to complete some research about an endangered animal from the Amazon Rainforest and present their facts on a poster. These will feature in next week's blog.

The students also had a Science at Home task to complete. Here is a video that Tashi created showing the parachute he made with his Dad:

Year 4 had a special meeting on Thursday as Mr.Xavi came to speak to the class about the Amazon Rainforest in Brazil. Mr.Xavi talked about important topics like deforestation, tribes and the fruits you can find there. The students had lots of questions to ask Mr.Xavi, but if your child has any more questions, please send Mr.Xavi an email.

Next Week

On Thursday, it is the End of Year show at 10am and will be broadcast live on Youtube. If you require the link, please email the office.

On Friday, it is our last day before the summer break. If I don't speak to you before, I hope you have a wonderful summer and look forward to seeing you in August.

Thank you.

Ms.Charlie :)
